the million dollar poncho

this was my very first project that i knit from a pattern. it's from the yarn girl's book. i call it the" million dollar poncho" because being as naive as i was, i bought the book and grabbed everything it said i needed to make it including about 600 yards of 3 different kinds of yarn. this was before i discovered ebay and other online yarn resources. that lys made a killing off of me.

here's a detail of the different yarns. i wasn't even looking at the price tags. i used a reynold's merino, a noro fancy wool blend with all these variegated colors and an elite mohair in fingering weight. the sad part is that it rarely gets cold enough for me to wear this in los angeles. i do love it though........
